Cooking Directions:
The first step in this candied walnuts recipe, is you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. Next take out a large baking sheet, and evenly spread out your raw English walnut halves. Once you are done there, slide the baking sheet into the oven, and bake the walnuts until they have started to turn a golden brown. You will know they are done when your kitchen is filled with an amazing walnut aroma. Next take out a medium size saucepan, and add in the white sugar, organic cinnamon, almond milk, and table salt. Cook these ingredients over medium high heat for about ten minutes. Add in butter if you want to thicken the sauce. Once you remove the saucepan from the heat, immediately pour in the vanilla extract, and stir it vigorously. Now from here you will want to individually spoon each walnut halve into the sugar sauce, and then place it on to some wax paper. When you place the walnuts on to the wax paper, make sure they do not touch each other, or they will stick together. Once you are done with every walnut piece, you can drizzle the remaining sugar sauce onto any walnuts that you may have noticed didn't get a healthy coating the first time around. Finally slide the walnuts into the refrigerator, and let them chill for about 3 hours. Store them in a sealed container and at room temperature. This is the perfect recipe for Christmas and Thanksgiving, as the kids will just love them. Also walnuts are extremely healthy to eat. We hope you enjoy it.
