Cooking Directions:
With a hilarious candy name, and tons of chocolate, these candy cow pies will likely be the neighborhood hit once you cook them up. To get started with the recipe, you will first want to take out a large heavy saucepan. Next turn on your burner to low heat, and add into it the chocolate chips and vegetable shortening. Stir these ingredients together until the chocolate is completely melted, and you have an even smooth chocolate sauce. Once you are done with this step, remove the saucepan from the burner, and stir in the plump organic raisins, and the sliced almonds. Again stir these ingredients vigorously until they are completely covered in the rich chocolate sauce. Finally take out a large baking sheet, and cover it completely with wax paper. Dusting the wax paper with powered sugar is optional. Once the baking sheet is prepared, start laying out spoonfuls of the chocolate onto it. Repeat this step until all of your chocolate has been used. Do be sure to scrape the sides of the saucepan well, as you do not want to waste any of these delicious ingredients. Once all of the chocolate is nicely lined out across your baking dish, cover it with aluminum foil, making sure not to touch the top of the candy with the foil. Finally, slide the baking sheet into the refrigerator to chill for about three full hours. Store these candies in a sealed cookie jar at room temperature. Serve them by the piece with a tall cold glass of Hershey's Shelf Stable 2% Chocolate Milk.
