Cooking Directions:
Get ready for an award winning rich and creamy homemade caramel recipe. First you will need to take out a large saucepan, and heat it over medium heat. Next add in the butter, light brown sugar, condensed milk, table salt, and corn syrup. Bring these sweet ingredients to a boil, while constantly stirring them to avoid any burning. You will want to heat the caramel batter to about 240 degrees Fahrenheit, or roughly 115 degrees Celsius. Once you have brought your caramel batter to the soft ball stage, try to keep it at that temperature for two full minutes. Next remove it from the heat, and add in the vanilla extract. Stir in the extract very well, so that it is well dissolved. After that you will need to take out a nine by thirteen inch baking pan, and grease it with butter. Once you pan is ready, pour the caramel batter into the pan. Let the batter cool at room temperature for about an hour or two. Once the caramel hardens, take out a sharp kitchen knife, and cut up the caramel into one inch squares. Use wax paper to wrap each caramel, and then store them in a candy jar with a lid. These tasty little treats are prefect for any occasion. We hope you enjoy this candy recipe, please check out our other recipes.
