Cooking Directions:
Dust a thin layer of sifted powdered sugar over a large cookie sheet, set aside. In a large skillet or non-stick saucepan, combine together the white granulates sugar, cold water and sweet corn syrup, stir until sugar is dissolved. Bring contents to a rolling boil over high heat until it reaches 300 degrees. Once you reach that temp add in the flavored oil and food coloring. A good way to test if the candy is ready or the temperature is right, drop a little bit into a bowl of cold water, if it becomes solid and brittle its ready. After adding the flavored oil and food coloring quickly pour the sugar mixture on the lightly powdered cookie sheet or a large space that’s non-stick. Once the edges are cool and keeping shape you are ready to cut out your hard candy shapes. Use scissors to make your favorite candy shapes, when it’s completely cool store in Ziploc bags or some else that airtight. Continue this procedure for thicker or multi colored candy layers.
